It's Time for a Change to the Game Plan! Why should organizations spend large sums of money and effort on software compliance when the Software Industry has FAILED since 1994 to deliver a solution to the problem?

We really don't care how much the software industry is losing,
BUT
we do care about the fact that you might be losing substantially more for a number of reasons outlined in our latest feature article!

Have the BSA Members been getting “value for money” from their annual fees when their annual survey results show minimal change in piracy rates over the last 7 to 10 years?

They claim “Lowering software piracy by just 10 percentage points during the next four years would create nearly 500,000 new jobs and pump $140 billion into ailing economies.” Source - BSA Annual Global Piracy Study 2009

Hang on a minute, you've been reading the tagline “10 point reduction during the next 4 years” in the BSA Survey Executive Summary year after year after year. Isn't it time that something changed?

We acknowledge the rate of piracy has reduced in some countries & regions, but nowhere near the 10 point drops claimed in each Executive Summary for each BSA annual report.

Key Issues for Senior Management to consider, that we believe might be costing you money are;
  • SAM & ITAM,
  •  Software Audit Tools,
  •  Whistleblowers,
  •  Accounting Systems,
  •  Home Grown Audit Tools,
  •  Experienced (or inexperienced) staff,
  •  Complacency and
  •  the GFC (are you kidding?).

The key issue for business is, you might well be expending (= wasting) a huge amount of money every year due to the failure of the software industry to come up with a solution to the problem of piracy.

To add “insult to injury”, some of you are then being “caught”” and having to pay a 6 figure settlement sum plus a multiplier value at a "rule of thumb" rate of 3 to 4 times the settlement sum for being caught with having more software installed than what you are able to prove was acquired legitimately.
