USB Auditor from PCProfile is a USB flash drive device that allows you to conduct a software inventory "on demand" on any Windows PC (with a USB port) to minimize the risk of being caught with illegal software. Supplied with script (text based) commands that can be easily modified by an auditor, you simply plug the USB Auditor into the computer you want to investigate for installed software. Then run the program to conduct the audit and the results will be written back to the USB Auditor drive. No files are saved on the user computer being audited and no software needs to be installed on the computer or network. It totally reads from and writes to the USB Auditor drive and requires no database "identification library". You can then unplug the USB Auditor and take it with you anywhere you go for analysis or upload to a central repository for running against SQL databases for compilation. No bigger than your thumb and less then 1/4" thick, you can carry it in your pocket, purse, or on your keychain. This should become an ESSENTIAL "MUST HAVE" tool for any auditor in the light of the increasing efforts by the anti-piracy bodies who are now becoming more aggressive with audits and investigations from tipoffs due to rewards schemes running across the globe.
